You are such an inspiration for me, Vanessa. I have been listening to your thoughts for a couple of years when meeting you in person but seeing it written down in this form made me realise how much I owe you. All the questions I could ponder because of your input. You have helped me to not see the world as black (and white). And not judge how grey everything is. Just seeing all the spaces in between. Thank you so much. As someone who's English is not the first language I really appreciate the way you write - it's exquisite and full of wisdom, but not written in a -ology jargon. Thank you so much.
This is lovely to read Eva. Thank you. I am glad that we get to keep learning from each other. And I am really glad that you're finding my writing to be accessible in a second language. xxx
Vanessa, when I read all of this, I just couldn’t get out of my head the movie Song of the Sea where there is so much hoping darkly. Do you know it?
Poor in spirit, meek, those who mourn. Can we learn this language, these shibboleths…I was going to say in enough time…but didn’t know how to finish the sentence. In time for what? We have all we need. We just need to say yes to going low.
So much to think about in this gift of your writing. I feel like (an extremely grateful) fly on the wall. Thank you.

Oooh I will find and watch that Abbey. Thank you. You are a great encourager!
This is a beautiful balm, Vanessa. Thank you, for the words, the insights, the images, the resonance.
"the glad song of the dark crack" is a heartening notion.
These words arose instinctively while listening:
Under the tarmac, the cobbles;
Beneath the cobbles the earth.
Within the earth the deep, dark crack;
the song, the longing to birth.
Thanks for these words Jez.
Your words ring with beauty, strength and truth and touch something very deeply in me, thank you
Thank you for sharing that Jeremy.
Exquisite. Thank you very much. 🙏
Thanks Brian.
Going to consider referring to “Jesus, the Walking Apocalypse” during the next time I have to give a homily. 😃 Fantastic.
Send me a recording of it when you do Erin. 🙂
I’m so deeply glad to have found you, a kindred spirit resonating to the same Silence. Thank you especially for the word Tehom.
What a lovely thing to write. Thank you Shelagh.
I can't tell you how much I love reading the words alongside your drawings and paintings. Thank you.
Thank you Caro.
